So this is something new in Qlik Sense that you can do with the load script.

If you are familiar with Qlikview you will be aware of the search object and the ability to select fields you can search. This is also possible in Qlik Sense using a new function in the load script called search.

Using the functions “search exclude” and “search include” will enable you to control what the users can search for using the global search function in Sense.

The main use case for this is likely to be managing the performance of your application to make sure the user cannot slow down the search in a data model with lots of fields. You can also use wild card characters to dynamically limit the field list.
