If you want to bring in data from a web API then this can be done with Qlik Sense out of the box.
Go to data connection library as shown below. click on ‘Web File’.
In here you can paste an API call URL. It will then be listed as a standard connection library and the API call will be fired on every reload in the FROM statement on a load. That was easy.
Now the thing about this is you may want to run many API calls within a loop or through some other programmatic way without manually adding individual data connections. maybe using variables inside your API call? This requires a little extra work, but not much.
This can be done by switching off Standard Mode in the QMC, on the QMC navigation click on Engines > Edit.
Make sure Standard mode is unticked.
